Quality Initiatives

The quality culture at GBTS (TEKsystems India) is founded on well-evolved quality systems such as the Quality Systems Documentation, Process Database and the Organizational Knowledge Database. The Quality Systems Documentation is a comprehensive repository of all software life cycle and project management processes.

Every project at GBTS (TEKsystems India) has a Software Quality Advisor (SQA) to ensure objectivity to quality goals. Quality assurance is built into the software development process and ensured by methodologies, standards and procedures during the entire software development cycle. We insist on use of tools for test coverage analysis, complexity analysis, release management, configuration management and problem tracking to ensure effective implementation of the QA processes.

The importance of experiential knowledge in acquiring technical expertise and providing customer value cannot be overstated. The GBTS (TEKsystems India) quality system fosters organization-wide sharing of such experiential knowledge. All quality systems are being made available on the organization-wide Intranet. GBTS (TEKsystems India)'s ability to commit to, and consistently deliver superior quality software solutions hinges on these quality systems.

Amongst various Quality initiatives undertaken by GBTS (TEKsystems India), foremost is the defect prevention program that ensures that projects take specific actions to prevent the occurrence and recurrence of defects. Intensive Peer Reviews are done at every phase of software development. This ensures that defects are removed in the same phase as they were introduced rather than detecting them later in the cycle, thereby resulting in defect free solutions and services. Other quality initiatives include focused process improvements and usage of metrics. GBTS (TEKsystems India) has instituted systems that enable continual process improvement and transition to new technologies with everyone in the organization encouraged to participate in process improvement activities.
